Pearl Mini
The coffee color sorter roasters trust.
One bad bean is one too many. Pearl Mini takes out only what you tell it to.
Trusted by 400+ roasteries

Two cameras. Every bean.
Your standard, in every batch.
- It looks. Beans fall past two cameras, one on each side.
- It decides. Each bean is checked against your recipe.
- It sorts. A bad bean gets a puff of air and drops out. Good beans go on to the bag.

Control
You decide what comes out.
Pearl Mini removes three defects from roasted coffee: quakers, burnt beans and light stones. Each one is hard to catch by eye, and each one shows up in the cup. You choose which ones it looks for and how strict it is.
What it takes out
-
Quakers
Unripe beans that stay pale in the roast, reduce perceived sweetness and mud the cup.
-
Burnt beans
Small or broken pieces that roast too fast and add ashy, bitter notes that flatten the cup.
-
Light stones
Stones too close to a bean's weight for your destoner, so Pearl Mini finds them by color before they chip grinder burrs.
Sorting green coffee instead?
Pearl Mini can also sort green coffee, so these never reach your roaster.
Insect damage
Beans bored by the coffee berry borer. The holes invite mold, leaving the cup dirty and medicinal.
Water damage
Beans that absorbed moisture during drying or storage. Mold grows, and the cup turns musty.
Sours
Beans that over-fermented during processing. They turn yellow-brown and make the cup sour and vinegary.
Blacks
Beans that died in the cherry. The SCA counts one as a primary defect. One bean can make a cup taste dirty and moldy.
Setting a recipe
-
01
Turn on stones and burnt beans
They look the same in every coffee. Turn them on once.
-
02
Set how pale is too pale
That is your quaker line. Or let Intelligent Mode set it for you.
-
03
Save it
Next time, anyone on shift just picks the recipe.
QC at scale
Consistency at any volume.
At production volume, automation is the only way to guarantee consistency. No team can inspect thousands of beans per kilo, batch after batch, with the same focus.
Pearl Mini applies your standard with the same precision to every batch, regardless of volume or who is on shift. Consistency becomes part of the process, not a matter of effort.

For your head of production
Same result, whoever is on shift.
Daily QC gets simpler, not bigger.
01
One recipe per coffee
Anyone on shift picks it. The sort matches yesterday's.
02
Rejects you can see
Most roasters reject 1–2%. Check the bin and adjust the sensitivity.
03
Care is part of the shift
We train your team to clean it, so it's routine.
04
Fits between roaster and filler
With SOVDA Lift, cooling tray to sorted in one pass.
“We've had zero downtime, and the maintenance is pretty much minimal.”
Better buying
Buy the coffees others pass on.
Experimental lots and naturals are a gamble without a sorter. With Pearl Mini, they're a decision.
Roasters like Black & White buy what others avoid, removing defects before or after roasting. What stays is a lot no other roaster has, and it helps set them apart from every other menu.

“Our customers expect the highest quality, so that means we have very little acceptance for quakers. … I would say that it has improved our quality tremendously.”
Is it a fit?
For roasteries that outgrew the workaround.
Choose Pearl Mini if:
- You roast 50–150 tonnes a year.
- You can't afford a bad bean in the bag, or a good one in the bin.
- You roast on a 15–70 kg (33–154 lb) roaster.
Check before you buy
- Coffee
- Whole beans, green or roasted.
- Speed
- Keeps up with a 70 kg (154 lb) roaster.
- Power
- 120 V in North America, with a transformer included. 220 V, single phase, everywhere else.
- Air
- A shop compressor with a dryer and filter. At least 170 L/min at 0.5 MPa (6 CFM).
Pearl Mini + SOVDA Lift
One button. Every check done.
Most roasters pair it with a destoning SOVDA Lift. Stones, metal, dust and bad beans come out in one pass, straight from the cooling tray.
- 1Straight from the cooling trayYour batch goes into the intake. Press one button.
- 2Stones and metal come outSOVDA Lift lifts the coffee. The destoner takes out stones, and a magnet catches screws and other metals.
- 3Dust and chaff come outThey are pulled away on the way up, before sorting.
- 4Pearl Mini sortsBad beans drop out. The rest is ready for the bag.
Setup and training
Set up and trained on your coffee.
A boxed sorter comes with a learning curve. Until someone masters the settings, bad beans slip through or good coffee gets tossed. That costs weeks of coffee and trust. So we don't ship and leave.
Before your first batch
Calibrated on your coffee
We install and calibrate Pearl Mini on your coffees. Your first recipes are saved before production starts.
Day one
Your whole team, trained
We train the people who run it: recipes, Intelligent Mode, fine-tuning and cleaning. All on your coffee, not a demo.
Every day after

Before you order
What does it cost, all in?
Starts at $38,950. That includes setup at your roastery, calibration on your coffees, training for your team and a 1-year warranty. Shipping and import depend on your country. You get your exact price on your call.
Can I spread the payment?
Yes. Most roasters pay a deposit to order and the rest before it ships. We also send a formal quote you can take to your bank.
Is my roastery big enough?
Pearl Mini is built for roasteries roasting 50–150 t (55–165 US tons) a year on a 15–70 kg (33–154 lb) roaster. If you roast much less, hand-sorting may still make sense. We'll tell you on your call.
How do I know it works on my coffee?
Ask us for a video of Pearl Mini sorting coffee like yours, or for a roaster near you who sorts with it. Most roasters reject 1–2% and keep the rest.
What does it take to get it running?
Power, a shop compressor with a dryer and filter, and the space listed in the tech specs. We check your site with you before it ships. Then we calibrate Pearl Mini on your coffees and train your team at your roastery.
How soon can I have it?
We keep Pearl Mini in stock. Delivery takes up to 150 days, often much faster. You get a firm date on your call.
Ready to order yours?
One call. We look at your coffee and your space, then plan your setup.
